Jeremy Petty and his crew came off of a much deserved break prepared for a fast and furious day at the Springfield, Illinois State Fairgrounds this past Sunday, August 23, 2009. The mile track was the first dirt track of the ARCA Re/Max season. After making his qualifying attempt, Petty started 27th in the #23 Hixson Construction entry. Petty gradually climbed his way toward the front, pitting during several cautions to make handling adjustments to his car. Petty finished in the 16th spot. Petty and his crew will head back to the shop briefly to prepare for Chicagoland Speedway Friday, August 28th. The race is televised on SPEED channel and begins at 5:30 pm.
